Dr Aleksandra Stupar je redovni profesor na Arhitektonskom fakultetu Univerziteta u Beogradu, gde je diplomirala, magistrirala i doktorirala. Uključena je u brojne istraživačke projekte, a radila je i na studijama, planovima i radionicama koje se bave problemima savremenih gradova, posebno sferom urbanih inovacija i urbane tranzicije. Rukovodilac je programa Doktorskih studija od 2024. godine, a bila je i rukovodilac Departmana za urbanizam u periodu 2017-2024.
Dr Stupar je autor dve nagrađene knjige – „Grad globalizacije – izazovi, transformacije, simboli“ (2009) i „Grad – forme i procesi“ (2016/2019/2024), 27 naučnih članaka, više od 20 poglavlja i preko 60 konferencijskih radova. Kao istraživač i predavač do sada je gostovala na sledećim institucijama – Institute for Advanced Studies on Science, Technology and Society (IAS-STS) Graz (2007, 2011), University of Tampere – School of Humanities and Social Sciences (2010-2013), Sapienza Università di Roma – Facoltà di architettura Valle Giulia (2006, 2008-9), University of Helsinki – Faculty of Social Sciences (2019) i Yildiz Technical University, Istanbul (2021). Bila je gost urednik tematskog broja časopisa Serbian Architectural Journal („City vs. Innovation“) 2012. godine.
Član je ISOCARP-a (International Society of City and Regional Planners), gde je bila i deo naučnog komiteta (2013-16), generalni izvestilac (Sijena, 2024) i izvestilac (Antverpen, 2007; Brisel, 2022). Bila je nacionalni predstavnik u AESOP-u (2018-2022), a član je i EAUH (European Association for Urban History).

2017 – nagrada Ranko Radović za knjigu „Grad – forme i procesi“ (OrionArt, Beograd, 2016)
