Impact of Climate Change on the Planning of Urban and Rural Development in Order to Preserve the Environment

PROJECT III 43007, Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development RS, 2011-2014

Climate change and its effects are very complex and acute problems we are faced with today. Those who make strategic decisions require a reliable source of information about causes of climate change and their potential impact on the environment, and possible measures for mitigation and adaptation. Planning of urban development is one of strategic priorities of each country considering that it is engaged in planning, organization and use of natural and built resources. Therefore, this research was formulated as a multidisciplinary consideration of climate change impacts on the planning and design reflected in housing, agricultural production, availability of water resources, forestry, biodiversity, energy, infrastructure systems, including social needs, cultural and aesthetic patterns.
This is the sub-project of the project RESEARCH ON CLIMATE CHANGE AND ITS IMPACT ON THE ENVIRONMENT: MONITORING, ADAPTATION AND MITIGATION, developed in partnership with the Faculty of Computer Science, Union University; Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Belgrade; and Faculty of Forestry, University of Belgrade.
