Associate professor
Having completed Mathematical Grammar School in Belgrade with the highest score in all four grades, Danilo S. Furundžić (1980) graduated from the Belgrade University, the Faculty of Architecture, in 2004 as the top student in his class and defended a doctoral thesis in 2017, for which he received the Serbian Chamber of Commerce award. He completed post graduate studies in Paris (2005−2006). Between 2004 and 2008, Mr Furundžić worked and professionally developed in Belgrade, Paris, and Kuwait, in the areas of cost review, cost-effectiveness analysis, and development studies preparation, specialising in the field of investment consulting. He managed a number of strategic infrastructure projects, participated in the public sector restructuring process towards its cost optimisation (2015−2019), and received Kapetan Miša Anastasijević Award as the best manager in public entrepreneurship. He acts as Chair in a number of plan drafting committees and as a court expert, holding five engineering licences. He authored numerous urban planning projects, architectural designs for built facilities, and interior design projects, which were presented in various salons of urban planning and architecture. He worked at the BU Faculty of Architecture as an assistant professor in 2017–2022, where he currently holds the position of an associate professor. Mr Furundžić’s papers have been published in several international journals and conference proceedings. He co-authored monographs titled Infrastructure: Transport – The Future of Urban Transport and Infrastructure: Independent Railway System – Metro System – The Belgrade Metro Project.
