Snežana Vesnić (b. 1974) graduated from the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Architecture (2000), where she obtained her doctorate “Philosophy and Aesthetics of the Architectural Concept: Object of Reality and Object of Illusion.” She completed her postdoctoral studies at the University of Rijeka in 2019. She teaches at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Belgrade at all levels of academic studies in the field of architectural design and architectural theory.
Vesnić authored the book Arhitektonski koncept: objekt stvarnosti i subjekt iluzije [Architectural Concept: Object of Reality and Subject of Illusion] (Akademska knjiga; IDESE, 2020). She has published many articles in national and international journals. She is a founder and editor-in-chief of Khōrein: Journal for Architecture and Philosophy.
Vesnić is a founder and member of the Belgrade-based architecture studio Neo Arhitekti, whose projects have been recognized with numerous awards and commendations, such as the Annual Award of the Union of Architects of Serbia for Villa Pavlović (2018), two nominations for the EU Mies Award (Villa Pavlović, 2019; Office building Textil, Užice (2009) and first prize at the competition for the RTS memorial (2013). Vesnić is the coordinator for national nominations for the EU Mies Award of the Union of Architects of Serbia. She is the author of many award-winning competition projects, the most recent of which is the project for the conceptual design of the new building of the Faculty of Music in Belgrade (2nd prize). In 2023, she was a jury member for the Young Talent Architecture Award (YTAA), awarded by the Mies van der Rohe Foundation with the support of the European Commission’s Creative Europe program.
