On November 22nd and 23rd the 2nd Transnational Meeting of the Erasmus + Cli-CC.HE Project will be held at the School of Architecture and Design UNICAM, Sant’Angelo Magno Campus, CO13 Ascoli Piceno.

The Faculty of Architecture – University of Belgrade, in collaboration with the Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Serbia, has the distinct honor of extending an invitation to the guest lecture “The Culture of Habitation: Ambassadors’ Residence” to be held by His Excellence Mr. Takahiko KATSUMATA, the Ambassador of Japan to Serbia at the Faculty of Architecture (Hall 200) on November 28, 2022 (Monday) at 6 PM.

The last regional stakeholder conference in the Middle Danube Region in the DANUrB+ Project was held in Golubac on November 4-5, 2022. The conference was organised by teams from the Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade and Golubac Municipality. The main part of the conference were sessions where stakeholders and partners from West Romania, Croatia and Serbia presented their organisations, development visions and potentials to cooperate at regional level. There were also special presentations of the DANUrB+ Atlas, technical project and school programmes in Golubac. Aside of the sessions, all participants had a cultural tour in the Serbian part of the Iron Gates Gorge, with cultural visits to Golubac Fortress and “Lepenski Vir” Archaeological Park.

The International Architecture and Engineering Forum – SHARE celebrates its fourth edition in Belgrade and focuses on the design and performance of facades and their impact on public spaces. SHARE Belgrade 2022 Forum will take place on 23rd November at the Metropol Palace Hotel.

We are delighted to share that the deadline for SAJ vol 15, issue 1 (2022) has been extended to the 30th of November and that the Call for papers is available on the journal website. Inspired by the Japanese identity(-ies) and its spatial manifestations, guest editor, Teaching Assistant PhD Ivan Filipović, from the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Belgrade, invites researchers to contribute with papers exploring the relationship between architectural design and the theory of (Japanese) identity(-ies). ECOBUILT Workshop will be held in online format (webinar-based event) on October 26 and 27, 2022. The workshop is a training activity within ERASMUS + program (ERASMUS-EDU-2021-EMJM-DESIGN — Erasmus Mundus Design Measures), the 15-month international project ECOBUILT – Eco-friendly Built Environment (n. 2101050081). This project is a result of mutual efforts of partner institutions: Riga Technical University, Latvia (beneficiary – https://www.rtu.lv/en), University of Genoa, Italy (co-beneficiary – https://unige.it/en/), and University of Belgrade, Serbia (co-beneficiary and hosting institution of the workshop – www.bg.ac.rs/en/).

University of Belgrade – Faculty of Architecture in the week from 27. - 30. September begins the new 2022/2023 school year with the manifestation of the WEEK WITH ARCHITECTURE 2022. The event contains a series of activities aimed at informing the professional and general public about the educational process and research in the field of architecture conducted by the Faculty.

The students of the Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade participated in the international student workshop of the DANUrB+ INTERREG Project in Sombor, Serbia, and Baja, Hungary, on August 25-26, 2022. The topic of the workshop was related to the mapping of hidden values in both cities in order to increase the attractiveness and new branding of these two border cities. Therefore, the workshop aimed to form a photo collection of hidden and less known places, which are not tourist, but have а potential for further development of a city. Students undertake an analysis where they were in the role of local and external city users, by which they defined a problem in the use of urban space and, then, discovered a potential as its solution. This photo collection is going to be posted at an Instagram account.

The 2nd International conference of the DANUrB+ Project was organised in Sombor, Serbia, and Baja, Hungary, on August 26-27, 2022. The topic of the conference was regional branding and the network building of cultural economy and tourism. Therefore, the conference aimed to find common tracks, living and forgotten/or hidden remnants of cultural heritage in Danubian countries and beyond, which can be re-discovered and activated for regional identity and brand building. Regional branding is an umbrella term. This is a connection between the individual and collective reputation, where a special respect is given to quality, value adding and the strengthening of regional identity. Hence, the branding becomes an important tool for local/regional development and community building.

A building camp for students within the international INTERREG “DANUrB+” Project was held in Golubac on June 21-24, 2022. Students and teaching staff of the Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade participated, with the support and assistance of the representatives of local partner – Golubac Municipality: municipal tourist organisation, municipal library and the citizens, as well as with a donation from the “Arhi.pro” private company...

Second-year MASA students, Anja Pantić and Zorana Jović won the first prize at the international student competition NEWH Green Voice Design Competition. The selection of works was made by the NEWH, Inc. Scholarship committee, after which the project was chosen as the best of five final works. Students will have the opportunity to present their project within BDNY - Boutique Design New York, a leading fair and conference that brings together architects, designers and professionals in the field of hospitality in New York, in November 2022. At the mentioned event, they will be awarded the NEWH Green Voice Scholarship in the amount of $ 7,500.

Teachers Training Workshop will be held at the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Architecture on June 16 and 17, 2022. The workshop is a training activity within ERASMUS + program (KA220-HED - Cooperation partnerships in higher education - Call 2021), the two-year international project CliCCHE - Climate Change, Cities, Communities and Equity in Health (n. 2021-1-IT02-KA220-HED-000032223). Two representatives of the Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade – Prof. Aleksandra Djukić and Asst. Branislav Antonić – participated in the meeting of the DANUrB+ INTERREG Project in Calarasi, Romania, on May 30-June 3, 2022. The meeting sessions were also attended by the associate partners of the faculty from Smederevo and Sombor. The topics of the sessions were: action plans for Danubian cities and towns, work with stakeholders at the local level, establishing the project quality label and intangible cultural heritage along the Danube. Aside od the sessions, faculties of architecture from Budapest and Belgrade agreed about joint activities in the area of Sombor in Serbia and Baja in Hungary.

Students and teaching staff of the Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade participated in the Erasmus+ workshop of the CREATIVE DANUBE Project in Calarasi, Romania, May 30-June 3, 2022. Five students (Nikola Mitrović, Marko Milosavlјević, Milica Ristović, Neda Stamenković & Milen Galetin) worked for five days with colleagues from the faculties of architecture from Krems, Vienna, Bratislava, Budapest, Novi Sad and Bucharest on revitalisation projects for Calarasi, as a middle-sized Danubian city. The projects of all student groups were presented on the last day of the workshop, with an additional debate. Two mentors were in front of the faculty: Asst.Prof. Danijela Milovanović Rodić and Asst. Jelena Marić.
