AUR predavanje o arhitekturi i njenoj odbrambenoj funkciji iz ugla Hrvatskog inžinjerskog kooperativa – stvaranje zaštićenih prostora, gde se alternativa kapitalizmu može skloniti, predahnuti, početi slobodno zamišljati drugačiji život u gradu. I organizirati protunapad.

Nastavljajući ciklus gostujućih predavanja 2013-2014 u okviru programa AUR (Arhitektura Utopija Realizam) predstavljamo rad dva malteška arhitektonska biroa: AP - Architecture Project i Chris Briffa Architects.

Through projects and studies in Tokyo, Mumbai, Sao Paulo and Rio, Matias Echanove will present an alternative urban methodology based on an active engagement with urban narratives, everyday life practices, the morphologies of neighborhoods and the user-generated city.

The lecture introduces topics and discussion on what design experts can do to trigger, promote and support a new generation of collaborative organizations. The four lines of work entail very practical activities and require specific design knowledge developed through research and training. Design schools could make a major contribution in this.

An introduction to two series of projects of the Antonas Office; the first part concerns the projects that are done mostly in Athens under the title of Urban Protocols: micro legislative interventions and urban apparatuses are proposed as formed sets of rules that may function in an abandoned city center. The second part is related to a number of projects that investigate the minimum dwelling and the difference that can be detected in the concept of withdrawal today.

Without providing answers or suggesting alternatives to the current vacuity of architectural thought, this lecture will attempt to address the influence and status of the digital by focusing on an inclusive notion of space. This is both architectural space but also the productive space in which we find ourselves as we go about architectural design.

The proposed theme Architecture Utopia Realism aims to further the on-going discussion on the relations of architecture with realism and utopia. In that sense, the speakers are invited to reflect on a multivalent relations of practices and theory of avant-garde, modern and contemporary architecture to concepts and issues, such as utopianism, realism, social realism, socialist realism, neo-realism, utopian realism, new realism and the like.

International scientific conference A˙U˙R˙ Architecture Utopia Realism was a two-day event, organized by the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Architecture on 3rd and 4th October 2013. The conference hosted renowned scholars reflecting on a number of concepts and issues, such as utopianism, real, realism, social realism, socialist realism, neo-realism, utopian realism, new realism and the like.
